Caring is where the story continues
Simple daily checks, thoughtful seasonal care, a quiet rhythm that keeps your bonsai thriving.
Seasonal Care
In spring, watch buds swell and adjust watering gently.
Daily Care
Check the soil moisture every day. Adjust light gently. Observe before acting. Water when the top soil feels dry, never by the clock.
Summer, protect from harsh midday sun and keep soil evenly moist.
Autumn, ease back on feeding and enjoy the color shift.
And winter, water sparingly and guard roots from frost.
Core Care Guides
Watering
For watering: check the soil with a fingertip, water gently across the surface when it's just dry, then let the excess drain freely. Steady, calm, no rush.
Positioning
Positioning: rotate the tree slowly to find the best front, where the trunk line and roots feel balanced. Set it at a comfortable viewing height with clear, steady light, and avoid harsh glare.
Trimming
Start by checking for long shoots and crossing branches, then make clean cuts just above an outward-facing bud. Step back, tidy the silhouette, and keep the shape open and balanced so the tree breathes easily.
Feeding
Measure a small amount of fertilizer and apply it evenly around the soil, not against the trunk. Water lightly afterwards and stay consistent with the type and schedule, adjusting gently as the tree responds.
De-rooting & Repotting
Every couple of years, lift the tree gently, trim back a small portion of roots, set it into fresh soil, and settle the surface neatly. Keep it calm, tidy, and don't rush.
Common Problems
If leaves yellow, suspect overwatering. Check for pests with a small lens, and remove them carefully with tweezers. Keep interventions light and observe before making big changes.
